Overview

The Advisory Board for Faculty-led Programs Abroad is composed of Academic Program Directors (APDs) and Education Abroad Faculty, including representatives from every college. Also serving are representatives of administrative units responsible for operationalizing the University's internationalization goals, advisory Board members are appointed by International Affairs. 

Function

The function of the Advisory Board for Faculty-led Programs Abroad is to provide feedback and recommendations to Education abroad in respect to the feasibility proposals for new faculty-led programs. Additionally, the Advisory Board will provide guidance on proposed projects, initiatives, policies and procedures, including but not limited to Education Abroad programs. The Advisory Board for Faculty-led Programs Abroad will also serve as a forum to collect and disseminate information relating to internationalization at the university. 

Term and Vacancies

APDs and Education Abroad faculty members appointed by International Affairs will serve a two-year term. Representatives from the administrative units will serve indefinitely as long as their role at the university is directly linked to Education Abroad services. Vacancies will be appointed as needed prior to the next scheduled meeting. 

Schedule of Meetings 

The Advisory Board will meet on campus at least two times per year; however, as relevant events and circumstances evolve, more frequent meetings may be established. Preferred months for biannual meetings are April and November. 

Minute and Information

The Education Abroad office will be responsible for the scheduling of meetings and the recording of meeting minutes. Meeting minutes, relevant information, and work-products fo the Advisory Board will be uploaded to Canvas. The Education Abroad office will create and manage the Canvas site.
