Faculty-led Process

Program information

Overview

Faculty-led programs are led by Texas State professors who take a group of Texas State students abroad. During the program students participate in lectures, excursions, and cultural activities which will help them gain knowledge of the country they visit.

Most Faculty-led programs are offered during the summer for about 2-5 weeks. Students usually take two courses while abroad and receive TXST credits. Courses are taught in English unless it is a foreign language program.

Cost

The cost of faculty-led programs, in most cases, is based on a package, which include TXST tuition, housing, international insurance, excursions, etc. Faculty-led applications have a non-refundable $200 application fee, and a $300 program fee pre-payment to confirm your spot before February 15. All faculty-led program costs are paid directly to student business services.

Admission requirements

All faculty-led programs require that the student is in good academic and disciplinary standing, and meet all pre-requisites for the specific courses abroad. The student must also complete all necessary application and supplemental documents required by the program and comply with all deadlines.

Occasionally, programs may have other requirements depending on the particular circumstances such as physical condition, academic classification, interviews, etc. If a program does have these specific requirements, they will be stated in the program's online brochure.
