Non-Affiliated Process
Non-Affiliated programs are programs not formally associated with Texas State that students may want to consider.
It is important to keep in mind that by going through a Non-Affiliated provider, you will not be considered a Texas State Student. Financial aid through Texas State is not available for these programs, but students are encouraged to look into other scholarships listed on the Financial Assistance page. Students may also investigate loans, such as private or alternative loans, through the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Application deadlines
Applications for most programs are due the semester before the program begins. There are two applications Texas State students must complete in order to participate in an Non-Affiliated program:
1. Texas State Non-Affiliated Program application
2. the organization's application.
*Please note that some Non-Affiliated programs have an extended application deadline. Please schedule a meeting with the Education Abroad to get more detailed information.

The Transfer Credit Agreement form is required for all students who wish to participate in Education Abroad programs and would like to transfer undergraduate credits to Texas State. This form will need to be filled out to make sure your classes while abroad will transfer to Texas State.
The Undergraduate Transfer Credit Agreement Form (TCA) is located in your online Texas State Affiliated program Application. Please complete the TCA form and email it to Education Abroad affiliated program advisor (Cecilia Mika) or directly to the Education Abroad office with course descriptions.
It is strongly advised to select more courses than what you really intend to take in case of course cancellations or schedule conflicts. Be sure to attach all course descriptions or syllabi (preferably in English), which you can find in university catalogs, websites, etc.
Students should use the Transfer Equivalency System to see if their host institution is already in TXST database (Search by Transfer Institution), and see what courses were transferred in the past between this institution and TXST.
The TCA form will be reviewed by an Education Abroad staff member, and then forwarded to the Office of Admission for course evaluation. The Office of Admission will then send it to your Academic Advising Center to determine if the selected courses satisfy your degree requirements. Once fully evaluated, the TCA form will be send to an Education Abroad staff member who will transfer it to you.
If you have any questions regarding the evaluated/approved TCA, please make an appointment with the Academic Advisor who completed the form.
